Mosaic Co. considers Vale’s fertilizer unit

At present, Vale is selling assets in order to meet a US$10 billion debt reduction target by 2017.
According to Reuters, Mosaic Co. has entered talks to buy Vale SA's fertilizer unit. Sources told the paper that the unit is valued at approximately US$3 billion. If the sale were to happen, Vale, with assets in Canada, Brazil, Peru, Argentina and Mozambique, would become Mosaic’s largest shareholder.
At present, Vale is selling assets in order to meet a US$10 billion debt reduction target by 2017.
