EU UAN complainant industry welcomes commission’s provisional anti-dumping regulation on imports.

EU UAN industry has welcomed the European Commission’s provisional anti-dumping regulation on imports originating from Russia, Trinidad and Tobago and US which is expected to prevent further injury to the EU industry. This provisional regulation applies for six months, at which time typically a definitive anti-dumping regulation is completed.

The European Commission has released the full explanation and economic analysis justifying the provisional anti-dumping duties included in the Commission Regulation 2019/576.

“The EU UAN industry is pleased to reach the stage where provisional anti-dumping measures are applied, expecting relief from the proven and severe injurious dumping” explains Jacob Hansen, director general of Fertilizers Europe.

He underlined that “due to low dumped imports price, the European fertilizer industry was facing severe and ever-growing difficulties in the period 2017–2018. We are glad this problem was recognised by authorities and the situation is being addressed”.

This provisional regulation applies for six months, at which time typically a definitive anti-dumping regulation is completed with an anti-dumping measures able to apply for up to five years.
