The granulation plant at CSBP’s Kwinana works is the only compound fertiliser granulation plant of its kind in Australia. At its Kwinana manufacturing hub, CSBP combines nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium inputs to produce premium cropping fertilisers tailored to Western Australian soil conditions.
Flagship products manufactured through the granulation plant include CSBP’s locally developed Agras, MacroPro and K-Till ranges, which are all made from high-quality raw materials.
Designed for WA soils, the range is tailored to ensure crops receive the essential macro and micro nutrients needed for their specific soil requirements. The locally developed ranges also offer superior handling capabilities for growers.
The Granulation Plant forms one part of CSBP’s industry-leading infrastructure network that also includes its Superphosphate Manufacturing Plant and liquids plants which offer the capability to manufacture Flexi-N.
CSBP Fertilisers General Manager Ryan Lamp said local manufacture was a cornerstone of CSBP’s operations.
“For more than 50 years CSBP has manufactured compound fertilizer products through the Granulation Plant, and this is central to our strategic goal of delivering best reliability to WA growers through our leading range of premium-quality cropping fertilizers,” Mr Lamp said.
“We understand every soil is unique, and a key benefit of manufacturing locally is that we have the ability to work closely with growers to identify their soil nutrient status and manufacture fertilizers that address the requirements of their crop.
“With logistics at seeding at an increasing premium, CSBP’s local production enables better management of fertilizer quality, reducing the disruption, waste, and expense that can be caused by lower quality product.
“At peak production the Granulation Plant runs 24/7 and has the capability to manufacture up to 1500 t of compound fertilizer a day. Typically, our seasonal production cycle commences with the manufacture of Agras followed by MacroPro, with the K-Till range produced closer to seeding.
“CSBP has begun importing the raw materials that are required for local manufacture, and with the Granulation Plant now up and running we strongly encourage growers to forecast and commit their fertilizer requirements for 2025.”
Product manufactured in the Granulation Plant is despatched to growers from CSBP’s Kwinana works and through its extensive network of regional distribution centres and depots.
