RHEWUM screens chosen for new urea plant

Published by , Assistant Editor
World Fertilizer,

RHEWUM screens have been chosen for a new plant for the production of urea fertilizers.

The hygroscopic characteristics of urea can lead to lumping and clogging of the screen cloth, which has a negative effect on screen efficiency. For the classification of urea granules, RHEWEM uses double-deck screening machines with an integrated lump screen to gently remove the lumps produced during the upstream process. There are 4 RHEWUM WAU screening machines which screen in 4 fractions: lumps (>15 mm), coarse particles (4 - 15 mm), main product (2 - 4 mm), and fine particles (<2 mm).

The RHEWUM SV feeders have an inner vibrating conveyor plate which is driven by two external out-of-balance motors. Furthermore, the static housing enables a dust-tight flange connection as well as inspections and maintenance during operation.

The tests carried out at our technology centre in Remscheid in advance enabled us to test the characteristics of the product on our machines in pilot plant size and thus to design the optimum machine that suits the customer's stringent requirements.
