Tata Chemicals permitted to start Haldia plant operations

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has allowed Tata Chemicals to resume operations at the Haldia fertilizer plant. The plant resumed production on 7 July. Permission to resume followed a sample analysis.

This announcement follows the order to shut down the plant for alleged non-compliance with prescribed norms for liquid affluent discharge.

The plant produced 6 66731 t of ammonia fertilizers during 2015-16, versus 8 68 157 t a year ago.
