Kalium Lakes Ltd.’s proposal to construct and operate the Beyondie Sulphate Of Potash Project has been recommended for approval by the Western Australian Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) and its report is now with the Hon Minister for Environment for a final decision.
Managing Director, Brett Hazelden, commented: “Kalium Lakes has worked closely with the officers at the EPA during the past four years, with project referral in October 2017, completing the Environmental Scoping Document and the Environmental Review Document during 2018, culminating in the EPA Board recommending approval this month. Achieving an EPA approval recommendation for the Beyondie Project is another first for the fledgling SOP industry in Western Australia. “It has been a pleasure working with the team at the EPA and we look forward to the Hon Minister for Environment making a final decision in due course.”
The Beyondie SOP Project remains on schedule to commence Australia’s first commercial SOP production in 2020.
