Oklahoma ammonia plant resumes production

LSB is based in Oklahoma, and manufactures and sells chemical products for the agricultural, mining and industrial markets. It owns and operates facilities in Cherokee, Alabama, El Dorado, Arkansas and Pryor, and operates a facility for global chemical company in Baytown, Texas.
The Pryor facility was originally taken out of service in order to repair damage to some of the ammonia plant’s electrical controls, wiring and piping, which was caused by a fire that occurred on 23 September 2017.
In the statement, LSB claims that the EBITDA impact from the expenses related to the repairs and to upgrades made to reduce pipe stress that will enable Pryor to skip its planned 2018 turnaround, the excess cost of purchasing UAN versus producing it in order to meet customer commitments, and the reduced absorption of fixed costs will be between US$5.5 million and US$6.0 million for 4Q17.
