Bagtech is in the unique position of running the equipment it manufactures and sells. It currently bags and blends more than 400 000 tpy for 10+ clients at various operational sites including Omnia, Yara, Gavilon and others around South Africa. It is this mix of business that allows the understanding of clients’ needs that has made the company an efficient warehouse management company.
It is this background that has led to Bagtech being a leader in fertilizer equipment in Africa with more than 90 successful projects delivered until now. Bagtech considers itself an African company and provide custom made equipment for Africa. Over the past 24 months, it has delivered, installed and commissioned equipment for over 6 countries in Africa.
One of the company’s clients is Toyota Kenya, which encouraged and trusted in Bagtech’s AI technology and experienced team to design the project of the first fertilizer blending plant for Kenya. The plant was designed and built according to Toyota Safety Standards. This machine can blend, add micronutrients, screener the dust, and coat and then bag the fertilizer. The capacity of the plant reaches 50 tph bagging 18 bags per minute. The bagging machine can bag from 10 to 50 kilo bags.

Manufacturing from its workshop based in the harbour complex, Bagtech’s machines are designed after extensive interaction with the client whereby Bagtech is involved in all aspects from the warehouse design as well as the warehouse layout. All machines are made from 304 Stainless and Bagtech is able to manufacture machines with capacities ranging from 40 tph through to 75+ tph. A smart system with integrated artificial intelligence controls all aspects of the process and allows for the memory of flow rates, which leads to the efficient management of time.
The company’s efficiency follows onto the accuracy of its machines; any improvement in accuracy no matter how small will lead to savings for its clients. The Bagtech team consistently works on improving the speed, accuracy and efficiency of its machines for the clients’ benefit.
Machines are transported in four or five 40 ft high cube containers and shipped to the client’s operation where it is installed by a team of technicians supplied by Bagtech. Upon commissioning, Bagtech hands over to the client but not before having provided on the job training for their employees they have allocated to run the machine. The Bagtech team will supply drawings to the client to ensure civils are correctly completed.
