EFT Analytics deploying real-time monitor at Koch Fertilizer plant

EFT Analytics is implementing a real-time monitor that is producing excellent outcomes at a Koch Fertilizer plant in Enid, Oklahoma, US.

Over a 10-week period, EFT collaborated with Koch plant engineers to understand previous undesirable plant behaviours so they could identify precursors to potential unplanned events and increase plant efficiencies.

Mike Kleis, VP operations and plant manager at Koch Fertilizer, said: “EFT’s analytics platform and services, paired with our extensive knowledge in the fertilizer industry, are delivering real-time results here in Enid.

“We believe innovation is critical to operational success. This is the second plant to implement an EFT solution, and we’re looking forward to leveraging these efforts in other Koch Fertilizer locations in the near future.”

V.I.T.A.L. Signs is a production plant health monitoring dashboard that detects signs of plant upsets and makes them visible, informative, targeted, analysed and leading. EFT Analytics’ process engineers have equipped Koch’s shift managers with the ability to identify precursors of an unplanned event. This real-time monitor is being used to broadcast the plant’s health status and allow operators, engineers and shift managers to take action in order to reduce the likelihood of future outages.

Brent Youngers, president of EFT Analytics, said: “The ‘V.I.T.A.L. Signs’ monitor provides a heartbeat for the plant and positions power into the hands of the operator, allowing them to deliver profitable actions.

“We’re thrilled that our collaboration has helped minimise downtime and provide outcomes that their operators, managers, and engineers can implement with confidence.”

Koch currently has plans to scale the V.I.T.A.L. Signs solution across more of its production units and facilities in the coming months.
