Solvay invests in gas turbine

Solvay has reported an investment in a new energy-efficient gas turbine at its soda ash plant in Rosignano, Italy. This secures the plant’s current production capacity and long-term competitiveness on local and export markets.
This investment was facilitated by Rosignano’s enhanced competitiveness following a breakthrough cost saving programme at the site.
“Our continued investments in our world-class assets demonstrate Solvay’s commitment to remaining a reliable and competitive supplier of high-quality soda ash for its customers worldwide,” said Christophe Clemente, President of Solvay’s Global Business Unit Soda Ash & Derivatives.
