K+S report increased potash production at the Werra plant by the end of the year

World Fertilizer,

Recent rainfall has temporarily raised the water level and flow of the Werra river. Therefore, the disposal situation and the capacity of the retention basin at the Werra potash plant have improved.

The production will only stop from December 24 to 26, and full production will resume at the three sites of the plant from December 27 onwards. K+S previously expected a longer production stoppage.

Due to the production stoppage, which is now shorter than previously assumed, K+S expects only an additional negative EBITDA effect of roughly €10 million (before: maximum of €15 million) in the 4Q18.

K+S assumes further stoppages in the potash production at the Werra plant to be unlikely in the 1Q19, even in the event of drought.
