Elessent Clean Technologies increases global MECS® catalyst prices

Elessent Clean Technologies (Elessent) has announced a global price increase of US$1.40/liter for its cesium-promoted MECS® sulfuric acid catalyst products and US$0.40/liter for all other MECS® sulfuric acid catalyst products.
Additional charges may apply for freight, near-term delivery and specialty product grades. Subject to the terms of applicable contracts, the new pricing will take effect immediately.
The sulfuric acid industry has been relying on MECS® catalyst products since 1915 to convert sulfur dioxide (SO2) to sulfur trioxide (SO3) reliably and economically. Elessent supports sulfuric acid producers around the world with catalysts that boost plant capacity, improve efficiency and, at the same time, reduce SO2 emissions.
The MECS® sulfuric acid technology has been in use for nearly a century in the phosphate fertilizer, non-ferrous metals (leaching & smelting), oil refining and general chemical industries. MECS® technologies feature breakthrough solutions, many of which have helped the performance, quality and cost-effectiveness of customer operations. They include MECS® heat recovery systems (HRS™), MECS® SolvR® regenerative SO2 scrubbing and MECS® MAX3™ sulfuric acid production technology.
