Acron boosts mineral fertilizer supplies in Russia

In the first six months of 2020, Acron Group shipped approximately 750 000 t of its products to domestic growers, up 30% y/y.

Ammonium nitrate and complex fertilizers (NPK) were most popular with Russian growers over the period. Acron shipped over 500 000 t of ammonium nitrate domestically, up 31% y/y, and 218 000 t of highly efficient complex fertilizers, up a quarter y/y.

Agricultural enterprises in Russia’s central and southern federal districts remain major consumers of Acron’s products.

The chairman of Acron’s Board of Directors Alexander Popov, commented: “This year, we are still seeing strong demand for mineral fertilizers from Russian agricultural producers. We remain committed to meeting the growing needs of Russian farmers as a priority”.

In late 2019, Acron Group signed fertiliser supply agreements for 2020 with regional agriculture departments in Penza, Bryansk, Orel, Ryazan, Yaroslavl, Kursk, Ivanovo, Novgorod, Lipetsk, and Belgorod regions.

Agronova, Acron’s distribution network in the Russian market, was established in 2005 and comprises ten specialised agrochemical facilities that ensure direct access to products in Russia’s major agricultural regions. Agronova’s units handle transportation, sales, and storage of mineral fertilisers, with total warehouse capacity of 189 000 t.
