Supreme Court: ammonia tanks must be emptied

Following a long period of legal discussions, the Supreme Court has ruled that Haifa Chemicals must close the ammonia tank located in the Haifa bay industrial zone.

In making the judgment, the court said: “the tank has no building permit and Haifa Chemicals is operating without a business license,” but did allow the company to receive a final ammonia shipment in order to ensure supply until July 2017.
