Casale has been awarded a contract by Messrs Smartchem Technologies Limited (STL), a fully owned subsidiary of M/s Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Limited, India (DFPCL) for a new technical ammonium nitrate plant.

Casale to supply key technologies to Deepak Fertilizer for a new nitrate plant

These technologies include:

  • One 900 MTD Nitric Acid plant, based on Casale’s proprietary NA2000 process (Dual Pressure).
  • One 1143 MTD Ammonium Nitrate Solution plant incorporating Casale’s AN2000 Pipe Reactor technology.
  • One Prilling Unit capable to produce 970 MTD of either High Density Ammonium Nitrate (HDAN), based on Casale Technology, or the same amount of Low Density Ammonium Nitrate (LDAN), based on the newly acquired technology from ORICA for this product.

The project will make full use of the original, mothballed, unused equipment originally supplied for another ‘project’ in a totally different geographical area, which never materialised.

Under the terms of the contract Casale will supply, for each of the units mentioned above, the process license, know-how, revalidation of the original basic design, review of the new Detail Design, proprietary items, and site assistance.
