Uralchem has provided an overview of the results of its operating activities for the first six months of 2021 (1H21). The amount of manufactured product exceeded last year's figures by 1.1%.

In total, within 1H21, the holding enterprises produced 3 322 000 t of finished products (1H20: 3 286 000 t). Voskresensk Mineral Fertilizers, JSC showed especially good results, exceeding last year's result by 11% due to the commissioning of new facilities in the ammophos production line No. 1. It produced 76 500 t of universal complex nitrogen-phosphorus-potassium fertilizer NPKS 15:15:15:12 and 19 000 t of the most marginal product – special water-soluble monoammonium phosphate MAF 12:61. Thanks to these achievements, the production of complex fertilizers in the Uralchem Group increased by 9%, and MAF 12:61 – by 61%.

Also in 1H21, the unscheduled downtime of ammonia units at the Azot Branch in Berezniki have more than halved, thanks to which the volume of commercial ammonia production increased by 6% y/y. The PMU Branch of Uralchem, JSC in Perm made its contribution to the increase in the production of commercial ammonia by reducing the consumption rate of the substance per tonne of urea. In 1H20 this ammonia rate was 0.59 tonnes per tonen of urea, whereas in the same period of 2021 it reduced to 0.575 tonnes per tonne of urea due to the high-quality overhaul of the urea line in 2020.

In 1H21, KCKK Branch of URALCHEM, JSC in Kirovo-Chepetsk worked steadily, its performance slightly higher than the last year, and the ammonium nitrate line No. 57 produced 2% more marketable products y/y. The production of calcium nitrite also increased by 25%. This is due to the launch of the third stage of calcium nitrate production in February 2021.

At the production site in the city of Yartsevo, Smolensk Region, the production of AdBlue solution, a liquid reagent for cleaning diesel engine exhaust gases, was launched. According to the results of 1H21, more than 4000 t of the corresponding product were released.

Sergey Momtsemlidze, Deputy CEO - Director of Nitrogen direction of Uralchem, said: “The performance indicators for 1H21 are encouraging. By expanding and updating the product portfolio, and upgrading the existing production assets, our team managed to achieve excellent production results.”
