100 workers leave the Picadilly mine

100 PotashCorp miners will leave the Picadilly mine, in the Sussex area, on Tuesday 7 June 2016, according to CBC News. The company invested $5 million to cover training and educational support for the employees moving into new career industries. Approximately 35 employees will remain for the maintenance of the plant, which cost US$2.2 billion.

Al Brown, who has worked in the industry for 29 yr, commented: "It's bittersweet but somehow liberating […] You can't dwell on [the job losses,] otherwise it'll drive you crazy. You have to look for something to go forward on.”
