World Fertilizer,
On Friday 21 April, a 4340 gal. tanker spilt ammonium thiosulfate, a liquid fertilizer, in Odebolt, Iowa. The tanker was heading to a bulk plant in Boone.
WNAX reported that only 15 gals. leaked. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has investigated the environmental impact of the spill and reported elevated ammonia levels in a creek near the spill location, but none downstream. A clean up of the spill is expected.
