World Fertilizer,
From 26 - 28 January Argus Media, in collaboration with CRU, hosted an insightful and engaging fertilizer conference and exhibition at the Trump National Doral Miami, Florida, US. The event brought together major industry players from not only Latin America but also the wider world.

The conference featured over 900 attendees from 56 different countries and functioned as an environment where people from across the world, and across the fertilizer industry, could meet and network. World Fertilizer was able to send one of our own team members to the event alongside a copy of our January/February 2026 issue.
The first day began under the heat of the Miami sun with the exhibition floor bustling with activity as attendees received their registration badges. The theme of the first day was sustainability, with Ann Steensland, The Mosaic Company, opening the conference with a discussion on the key takeaways from COP 30 in Brazil. Throughout the day there was a wide range of presentations discussing the strategies, technologies, and potential opportunities for the fertilizer industry to decarbonise and become more sustainable. At the end of the first day attendees were able to relax and enjoy some coconut water at the ‘La Ruta del Fertilizante’ networking event sponsored by OCP Nutricrops featuring continental themes from Latin America, Africa, Asia, and Europe with entertainment inspired by these regions.
The second day started strong with a Women in Fertilizers Networking Panel sponsored by BHP where attendees were able to listen and learn about the opportunities and challenges women face when working in the fertilizer sector. Following on from this event the conference focused largely on the state of the fertilizer market, exploring the impact of regulations and government policy as well as providing a chance to examine the financial aspects of the industry. However, after lunch the focus was shifted to look at what was happening with specific types of fertilizers: potash, phosphate, and nitrogen fertilizers were all discussed in depth. At the close of the day, attendees were welcomed to a ‘Noche Blanca’ themed event.
Heading into the final day of the event, the discussions at the conference shifted focus to the logistics and infrastructure that surrounds the fertilizer industry as well as a brief look into commercial opportunities for speciality phosphates.
Beyond the conference itself there was a lot happening on the exhibition floor as attendees were able to speak with a range of exhibitors from across many key sectors of the fertilizer market. Attendees, including yours truly, had the chance to try their luck with a golf simulator courtesy of Nutrien and the event itself provided a sports bar encouraging attendees to engage with the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and even the chance to win a National Jersey.
World Fertilizer was happy to attend and looks forward to the next Fertilizer Latino Americano Conference in 2027 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
