An agreement has been signed between ASMIDAL, MANAL, WUHUAN and TIAN'AN to produce 5.4 million tpy of fertilizer from a phosphate mine in Algeria.

The plant, opened by Aliko Dangote and located at the Lekki Free Zone in Lagos State, is designed to produce 3 million tpy of urea and supply all the major markets in sub-Saharan Africa.

The product of the desulfurisation process will be magnesium sulfate heptahydrate, which is used in agriculture as a magnesium fertilizer or as a component of compound fertilizers.
