Topsoe, a global provider of advance technology solutions for the energy transition, has been awarded the licensing agreements for six new ammonia production units by Nigerian company, Dangote Fertilizer.

Each of the six production units will have a 2500 tpd ammonia capacity, a combined 15 000 tpd capacity. Four of these are to be located at Dangote’s existing refinery and petrochemical complex in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria, whilst the remaining two units will feature at the company’s new US$2.5 billion fertilizer plant in Gode, Ethiopia, set to produce 3 million tpy of urea.

This agreement builds on an existing partnership between Topsoe and Dangote; Dangote currently operates two Topsoe-licensed ammonia plants.

This represents one of the largest recent ammonia licensing agreements in Africa and marks a significant step towards Dangote’s mission to boost agricultural sustainability and food security across Africa.
