BHP on course for potash mine

According to Reuters, BPH Billiton is expected to begin potash production in Jansen, Saskatchewan, Canada, by 2023.

BHP’s Board of Directors recently granted approval for a further US$4.7 billion investment.

Talking to the news outlet, Giles Hellyer, Vice President of Operations for Potash, said that the mine will use highly-efficient boring machines to convey ore at large volumes, without stoppage or interruption.

Currently, two-thirds of the mine shafts are completed.
