Importer Ethiopian Agricultural Businesses (EABC) has announced plans to buy 549 000 t of DAP for the country's 2025 - 26 season, with the tender due to close in mid-September 2025.

Offers are to be given on a fob and/or cif basis and prices will be settled on a lot-by-lot basis.

Payment will be at sight and/or with 30 days of deferred payment. The performance bond must only be issued by the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.

The DAP is to be supplied in bulk in nine lots of 61 000 t each.

EABC issued a tender on 9 September 2024 seeking 360 000 t of DAP, and issued several more tenders to buy DAP subsequently. Before that, the importer had met its phosphate demand with NPS and NPSB, bought through tenders. EABC had sought a little over 1.02 million t of NPSB and 332 300 t of NPS through a tender issued in August 2023.
