Indian NPK and NP stocks fall by 681 000 t in July

Argus Media has revealed that India's stocks of NP and NPK fertilizers fell by nearly 681 000 t in July, according to the latest Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) data.
India produced almost 1.08 million t of NPK and NP complex fertilizers in July, a 9% rise over the same month in 2024. Imports fell by nearly 20% y/y to 315 000 t in July.
Sales were 2.07 million to in July, a 18% increase compared to July 2024.
Meanwhile, cumulative stock draw/build – defined at production plus imports minus sales – stood at negative 680 800 t, marking a second consecutive monthly fall after stocks fell by over 400 000 t in the month of June.
This brings cumulative production to 3.74 million t in the first four months of the fertilizer year, which runs from April to July, while cumulative imports stood at 1.27 million t, and sales for the fertilizer year to date totalled 5 million t.
