Simply using shop primed steel or thin film zinc primers is not enough. Corrosion under insulation (CUI) is an on-going concern that can lead to failures, shutdowns and even personal injury. Moisture is trapped into the microclimate under the cladding of the insulation, creating corrosion chambers. CUI can progress very quickly.

Many solutions have been suggested, some good but complicated, while others simply do not work. This webinar will look at how to analyse the problem and keep the solution simple. Utilising various coatings and questioning ‘old truths’, Jotun will reinforce known facts that are not implemented throughout the industry.

Alternative coatings should be considered, as well as how they should be utilised and tailored for various practical situations. Part of this is the requirement for limiting out of service time while optimising operational time. This can include carrying out coating during operation, eliminating the need for shutdowns or undertaking the work during turnarounds.
