The technology integrates advanced reactor designs and energy-saving features that enhance operational efficiency and reduce emissions during urea production. This process transforms ammonia and carbon dioxide into high-quality urea melt with unparalleled precision and reliability.
The proposed facility will leverage Stamicarbon’s Adiabatic Flash technology, which minimises process steam consumption and optimises production efficiency. This translates to fertilizers with superior nutrient content, helping farmers improve yields and maintain soil health while meeting sustainability standards.
In addition to urea, the facility will include a diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) production plant with a capacity of 1500 tpd. DEF is essential for reducing NOX emissions in diesel engines and is compliant with ISO 22241 standards. The DEF technology allows for direct production from urea solutions, ensuring high quality and cost efficiency.
For farmers, this integration of advanced urea and DEF technologies provides more than just fertilizer. It empowers them to adopt sustainable practices, enhance crop productivity, and reduce their carbon footprint – key goals in today’s evolving agricultural landscape.
With over 75 years of expertise and more than 260 urea plants licensed worldwide, Stamicarbon’s technology aligns seamlessly with Genesis Fertilizers’ commitment to low-carbon solutions, ensuring that Western Canadian farmers receive products tailored to their needs.
This partnership takes a step toward revolutionising fertilizer production in Canada, building a sustainable future for farmers, agriculture, and the environment.
