DENZAI Bangladesh Ltd has announced the completion of all major lifting and transportation works at the Karnaphuli Fertilizer Company Ltd (KAFCO) plant in Bangladesh; a world-class ammonia and urea fertilizer production facility that plays a significant role in supporting Bangladesh’s agricultural sector.

Under a contract for heavy haulage, erection, and installation services for the new pool condenser and disposal of the existing pool condenser, DENZAI delivered an end-to-end solution, from ocean shipment in Italy to final installation at the plant, completing the works safely, on schedule, and without any incident.

DENZAI handled every stage of the new pool condenser’s journey, from factory to foundation, providing KAFCO with a single point of responsibility. The scope began in Italy, where DENZAI managed port handling and ocean shipment to Bangladesh, and continued by barge from the port of arrival to the site jetty. The unit was then rolled off at a temporary wet dock yard prepared by DENZAI on the riverbank, followed by inland transportation, a skidding operation, and onward transportation to the KAFCO plant for final installation. The entire movement was completed safely and as planned. The final lifting operation, involving the LP Steam Drum, was completed on schedule using DENZAI’s 800 t crawler crane, and the existing pool condenser was safely removed and stored in KAFCO’s designated area.

DENZAI Bangladesh Ltd deployed a comprehensive equipment spread for the project, including 800 t and 200 t crawler cranes, a 220 t all-terrain crane, 8 axles of Goldhofer SPMT, an Enerpac LH400SK low-height skidding system, and a jack-up/jack-down system.

KAFCO is one of the largest private-sector fertilizer plants in Bangladesh, located in the port city of Chattogram. KAFCO is an international joint venture project involving the governments of Bangladesh and Japan, Japanese investors including Chiyoda Corporation and Marubeni, and other international partners. The project was developed with strong participation from several leading Japanese companies and financial institutions, reflecting the long-standing economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Japan.

Omar Faruk, Managing Director, DENZAI Bangladesh, Ltd, said: "We are proud to have completed all major lifting and transportation works for KAFCO safely, smoothly, and without any incident. This is a significant milestone for DENZAI Bangladesh Ltd., achieved through the dedication, professionalism, and teamwork of our entire project team. We thank KAFCO for their trust and look forward to continuing to support key facilities in Bangladesh's industrial and energy sectors with specialized engineering and heavy lifting solutions."
