GROWMARK has released a statement claiming that construction has commenced for a new state-of-the-art fertilizer facility at FS PARTNERS’ agronomy site in Ayr, Ontario, Canada.

The 15 000 t facility will have nine bins to provide flexibility for retail blending needs. In addition to this, it will feature a blending system able to mix up to 2000 tpd of crop nutrient products. This more than doubles the old capacity of 800 tpd. The facility will be able to receive products both by truck and by rail.

Frank Barron, FS PARTNERS division manager, said: “We see this as an excellent investment for the future and confirms our true commitment to provide greater efficiencies for our farmer-owners, our customers and for retailers in the Ontario marketplace.

“Once construction is completed, it will give us increased capability to best serve our customers.”

GROWMARK claims that construction work is expected to be completed in approximately one year. The new facility will be a shared asset between GROWMARK Inc. and its retail division FS PARTNERS. GROWMARK will use it to distribute to area retailers, whilst FS PARTNERS will utilise it to serve farmers.
