Strike Energy has started drilling the SE1 well at the company’s 100% owned South Erregulla target in EP503, with the aim of delineating approximately 350 PJs of high confidence resource in order to secure the gas requirements for Project Haber, Strike’s proposed 1.4 million tpy urea fertilizer manufacturing facility in Geraldton, Australia.

SE1 has landed and cemented the surface casing string at 1940 m MD and Strike is now running in hole with a 12-1/4” drilling assembly to commence drilling the intermediate hole section.

Strike will drill ahead to section depth planned at 4330 m MD in the Carynginia Shale before running 9-5/8” casing and cementing it in place. The intermediate hole section is being drilled with a full logging while drilling suite as several secondary horizons will be observed in this hole section.

On confirmation of success at SE1, Strike will look to sanction additional detailed engineering (FEED), finalise the urea offtake and progress the equity/debt processes for Project Haber.
