Olmix launches a PFC6-certified bio-stimulant

Olmix has continued its development strategy by obtaining European PFC 6 certification for Cormin® SW, its non-microbial bio-stimulant designed for bulk-blending fertilizer manufacturers.

This certification is another asset in Olmix’s strategy to address the European market for mineral fertilizer blends. It attests not only to the agronomic performance of Cormin SW, but also to the rigor of quality control and the transparency of information provided to users, in accordance with European Regulation 2019/1009.

Fertilizer efficiency: one of the major challenges facing agriculture

Essential to the intensification of agricultural production for nearly a century, mineral fertilizers are both a valuable resource and a source of concern. On the one hand, they are indispensable for ensuring high productivity and abundant food supplies. On the other hand, as mentioned in a report by the International Fertilizer Industry Association, their utilisation is limited: less than 60% is absorbed by plants in the first year. As a result, some of the unused quantities have an impact on the environment. Greenhouse gas emissions during their manufacture and use, alteration of soil structure, destabilisation of the underground ecosystem, introduction of heavy metals such as cadmium, pollution from leaching of excess nutrients or erosion – these are just some of the examples of the downside of fertilizers.

Faced with these challenges, Cormin SW offers farmers a concrete solution. Formulated using exclusive MIP® RHIZO technology based on enzyme cofactors and prebiotics derived from seaweed and organic plant extracts, the product acts directly on the soil microorganisms involved in nutrient assimilation by plants.

“To produce more with less, it is essential to make the most of every kilogram of fertilizer. Cormin SW improves crop nutrition while mobilising soil resources, maximising yields and further rationalising fertilizer inputs for greater environmental friendliness,” explained Jérôme Alix, Head of Crops at Olmix.

Field-proven results

With more than 100 trials conducted under real-world conditions, Cormin SW has demonstrated productivity gains, with equal fertilization, ranging from:

  • Up to 16.3% in straw cereals.
  • Up to 17.7% in potatoes.

These performances are accompanied by an increase in photosynthesis, biomass, and vegetative vigour, increased ear filling, and optimised use of N, P, K, Ca, and Mg elements.

A simple, adaptable, and immediately operational solution

Presented in the form of granules to be added directly to fertilizer mixing stations, Cormin SW integrates perfectly into existing production lines. Compatible with all fertilizers, it is used at a dose of 75 kg/ha on all field crops.

“This certification opens the doors to the European market, but also to Asia and Latin America, where the quality of European standards is recognised and interest in our technology is growing.

Cormin SW embodies our vision: high-performance, eco-designed solutions that drive progress for the agriculture of tomorrow,” concluded Charles Marchand.
