Koch Fertilizer has been consistently recognised over the years for its commitment to safety in railcar loading and transportation. 2025 was no exception, with the company extending its winning streak for two of the industry’s most important safety awards.

Union Pacific Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Award

With its 2025 recognition, Koch Fertilizer has earned the Union Pacific Chemical Transportation Safety Pinnacle Award six years in a row, from 2020 - 2025. It was one of 138 companies recognised in 2025.

“This award recognises all of the Koch Fertilizer loading and storage teams for their dedication and commitment to safety in the handling process and transportation of chemicals,” said Brian Robinett, technical capability leader at Koch Fertilizer Enid.

“Maintaining a focus on stewardship and compliance is a critical aspect of our loading and storage teams’ mission. We would like to thank the group of dedicated employees who prioritise safety, the environment, and the communities we serve every day."

Koch Fertilizer's partnership with Martin Terminals in Beaumont, Texas, US, played a key part in earning this award year after year.

“We are honoured to support Koch Fertilizer and share in this recognition," added Shane Merriman, operations planning/logistics manager at Martin Beaumont Terminals.

"This award reflects the commitment of our Beaumont team and the strong partnership we have built together. At Martin, our goal is simple: to do no harm to people, property, or the planet. Through our Martin Operational Excellence (MopX) management system and the dedication of our employees, we strive to ensure every railcar is loaded safely, securely, and with the highest level of operational excellence. We appreciate Koch Fertilizer's trust and look forward to continuing our shared commitment to safe operations.”

CN (Canadian National) Safe Handling Award

For the fourth consecutive year, from 2022 - 2025, Koch Fertilizer Canada has earned the CN Safe Handling Award. It was one of 194 recipients in 2025.

“Receiving the CN Safe Handling Award four years in a row is a direct reflection of the commitment our team makes every day," commented Kelly Zarn, production manager at Koch Fertilizer Canada in Brandon, Manitoba. "This recognition really comes down to our people. Day in and day out, they’re looking out for each other and doing things the right way.

"We’ve got strong procedures in place, but it’s the consistency in following them – and mindset around safety – that’s made the difference. Four consecutive years is something we’re really proud of achieving.”

These awards are given annually to companies that demonstrate excellence in the safe loading and transportation of regulated products by meeting stringent safety criteria, including rigorous release prevention practices and zero non-accident releases of regulated hazardous materials.
