The Climate Registry is a non-profit organisation administered by US states and Canadian provinces and territories. Working with companies around North America, its greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting programs help pinpoint excessive and unnecessary carbon emissions.

Through the Climate Registry Information System (CRIS), Nexant is reporting that over the last 6 years we have been on a downward trend. In addition to helping lower our carbon footprint each year, The Climate Registry supports Nexant in applying offsets that match or exceed our CO2 output.

Minimising CO2 emissions is part of Nexant's sustainability initiative. This past year Nexant and its employees have taken steps and accepted challenges to decrease their carbon footprint. On an annual basis Nexant sends the Green Office Scorecard to qualifying global offices where each office's sustainability coordinator reports on sustainability efforts. The scores are based on a point system of greening activities, for example purchasing 100% recycled paper, having occupancy sensors for lighting, providing vegetarian lunches, providing recycling bins, and/ or purchasing other green office supplies.

"Nexant has passionate, forward-thinking employees that take sustainability seriously. We couldn't achieve this milestone without the consistent effort and interest of our employees, leaders, and sustainability coordinators. I'm excited for our 2019 plans and continued membership with The Climate Registry," said Nexant CEO, John Gustafson.
